Born is Israel, Karen Sabag received her initial training from her mother Lidya, also a respected designer. At age 11, she immigrated to the United States where she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2005, took first prize from over 800 entrants in the Kleinfelds Bridal Design Competition in 2007, and then opened her Brooklyn boutique for made-to-order bridal gowns, evening wear, and cocktail dresses. Overcome with overwhelming success she finally pursued her dream of opening her own boutique in Manhasset in March 2013.

Time and time again Karen Sabag finds herself drawn to the opulence of European culture. She is influenced primarily by its architecture, and the overdecorated and dreamlike interiors of cities like Paris, Florence, Rome, and Versailles. The attention to detail and the focused magnificence of the of the ceilings and walls of these buildings have the ability to leave you breathless. This three dimensional design lead Karen to her material concepts and layering incorporated into her pieces. The combination of lace and beading leaves a beautiful translucent effect and encapsulates an ethereal and airy feel. Karen uses fine fabrics and laces imported from France and India. Her collection encapsulates a feeling of true glamor, understated sexiness, and slight provocateur. These feminine and regal inspirations leave every woman dreaming she is the Marie Antoinette of her time, and the muse of this fantasy.

"Sabag proved she has the skills to tackle complicated techniques, and she'll certainly be a designer to watch as she continues to develop and refine her ideas."
